Prior to forming X-A-M Sports, Scott was a top sports and tax attorney with two of the country's most prominent and respected law firms (Greenberg Traurig in Denver and Coudert Brothers in Washington D.C.). Scott has negotiated and structured sports and entertainment deals well in excess of $150 Million Dollars. In addition to graduating magna cum laude from law school, Scott also has a Masters Degree in Taxation.  Scott has negotiated dozens of contracts for some of the NFL's top rising stars, including Super Bowl Cornerback Ike Taylor of the Pittsburgh Steelers, making Ike the highest-paid defensive back in Steelers' franchise history, and fullback B.J. Askew of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, making B.J. one of the top three highest paid fullbacks in the NFL. As Founder and President of X-A-M Sports, Scott has assembled one of the most powerful and effective sports management and marketing teams in the business, while maintaining a true sense of family with his clients.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Scott was a four-year letterman in football at Wabash College. He lives in Madison, Wisconsin with his wife, Shawn, and their two sons, Maxwell and Emmanuel.

Jason has worked with Scott Smith and X-A-M Sports since 2003 and manages X-A-M Sports' Chicago office. An attorney and NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, Jason graduated from Vanderbilt Law School in 2005 after earning his Bachelor of Science at Tufts University in 2002. In addition to nine years experience working with both large and smaller sports agencies and marketing firms, Jason has also worked with various patent, telecommunications and real estate law firms and is currently a member of the Maryland Bar. In 2007 and 2008, Jason co-represented two of the top NFL Draft classes and plays a large part in the negotiation of player contracts and securing endorsement deals for X-A-M's clients.

In addition to serving as the Senior Contract Advisor for X-A-M Sports, Tim is also the President and Managing Shareholder of Murphy Desmond S.C., one of the most prestigious and prominent law firms in the State of Wisconsin with over 50 attorneys.  Tim has over 24 years of experience in the practice of law and 18 years of experience in successfully negotiating contracts for coaches and professional athletes.  This former college athlete has engineered lucrative contracts for NFL players like Brooks Bollinger (QB, Minnesota Vikings), Alex Lewis (LB, Detroit Lions) and Jimmy Leonhard (S, Baltimore Ravens) as well as some of the nation's most successful college and professional coaches, including Stan Van Gundy (Orlando Magic Head Coach), Bo Ryan (University of Wisconsin Head Basketball Coach), Tim Brewster (University of Minnesota Head Football Coach) and Paul Chryst (University of Wisconsin Offensive Coordinator).  A highly respected member of his profession, in 2004 Tim was asked by Governor Jim Doyle to serve on a task force which helped write the rules governing the activities of sports agents in the State of Wisconsin.

 

As the Co-Founder of X-A-M Sports, Shawn brings over a decade of experience working with the media, professional sports teams and professional athletes. She holds Masters Degrees in both Public Administration and Social Work. As a full-time publicist and marketing professional for X-A-M Sports, Shawn has placed clients on ESPN's SportsCenter and Cold Pizza, Fox Sports, Jim Rome Show, SIRIUS NFL Radio, ESPN Radio, USA Today, Men's Health, ESPN Magazine and Sports Illustrated, just to name a few.

As a former Assistant to the Director of Research for the NFLPA, Eric maintains strong contacts with the NFL and the vast network of companies that market within the NFL. Eric has owned his own sports marketing company, Iron Mountain Sports, for over ten years and is recognized as one of the nation's leading players in the sports marketing business. From appearances to trading card deals and major corporate endorsements, Eric ensures that our clients are given every opportunity to maximize their income both inside and outside the game. Coach Shaw has over 15 years of experience training professional athletes and is regarded as the premier NFL trainer in the country. A graduate of Central Michigan University, Shaw went on to complete a Master's Degree and later completed course work toward a PhD at Florida State University.
